Meatballs made with mammoth DNA - CNN

Woolly mammoth remains, with fur and tissue still in tact, are regularly found entombed in Arctic permafrost. Their discovery has allowed scientists to sequence the mammoth genome and learn intriguing details about the lives of these extinct Ice Age giants.

(…)“We need to start rethinking how we get our food. My biggest hope for this project is … that a lot more people across the world begin to hear about cultured meat,” said James Ryall, Vow’s chief scientific officer.

Ode to Epke - Marketing Tribune

Together with Wefilm and Campina we launched the video 'Ode to Epke': a tribute to Epke Zonderland, three-time world champion and winner of Olympic gold in 2012 in the horizontal bar section. Zonderland has been working closely with Campina for seven years. With these personal images, Campina wished the top athlete every success on his way to his fourth and final Olympic flight at the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. For full article click on photo.

The Prince Claus Awards Ceremony 2020

After months of hard but meaningful work we finalised the film portraits of the 2020 ‘Prince Claus Awards’ laureates. Due to COVID-19, these seven inspiring cultural leaders were announced during a special online ceremony. It was exceptional, but it allowed people from every corner of the world to join!

HRH Prince Constantijn, Honorary Chair of the Board of the Prince Claus Fund, presided over the celebration.

Top athletes for charity

While filming for 'Spieren voor Spieren,' we initially expected the footage to air during their big charity event in April. However, due to COVID-19, the organization had to pivot. Wefilm proposed a national online giveaway featuring special items donated by top Dutch athletes like Ronald & Frank de Boer, Ron Vlaar, Frederique Matla, Dominique Jansen, Marit Bouwmeester, and Sven Kramer. Moving Portraits captured the personal stories behind these items. The campaign gained significant media attention, with Louis van Gaal urging donations on Radio 538, and athletes sharing the video widely. Juliette Stevens' short film about Guus, a boy with a severe muscle disease, is now airing on Dutch TV.

(co) directing new KPN commercial

Because of Covid-19 Belgian Wefilm director Jan Boon couldn’t travel to The Netherlands to direct the new KPN commercial in cooperation with Wefilm and Achtung. So I was asked to (co)direct live on the set while he joined us virtually on zoom. While behind the scenes we had to get used to “the new normal” KPN’s new campaign communicated the same message; paying a tribute to anyone who stays connected clever ways.

You can watch the commercial HERE
